Consultation on changes to Local Council Tax Support scheme

As you know, the Council has declared a cost of living emergency. Following the decisions relating to additional cost of living support made at Cabinet on Monday, we are proposing to make changes to our Local Council Tax Support scheme. This scheme provides financial assistance to low income residents with their Council Tax bill. The aim of the proposed changes is to increase the support provided to residents, including those who are on lower incomes and in work, and our most vulnerable residents. We are now consulting with all residents and stakeholders to gain their opinions on the proposed changes. A consultation has just got underway and runs until 5pm on Wednesday 14 December 2022.
