Elections 2025

County Council and Mayoral Elections

On 1 May 2025 elections will be held for Cambridgeshire County Council and for the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority Mayor.

The nomination period for candidates opens on 25 March and closes at 4pm on 2 April.

County Council nominations will need to be hand delivered to the South Cambs Elections department between 9am and 4pm weekdays. They must not be posted to us as they will have to be returned to you. The nomination form and further guidance can be downloaded from the Electoral Commission website.

Nominations for the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority Mayor must be hand delivered to the Elections department at East Cambs District Council, further details can be found on their election webpage.

The deadline to register to vote for this election is Friday 11 April. To register to vote please go to the government register to vote website

The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on 14 April and for a proxy vote 5pm on 23 April. For more information on and to apply for a postal or proxy vote please go to our postal and proxy voting page.

The deadline to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate is 5pm on 23 April.

Waterbeach Parish Council by-election

A by-election will be held on 1 May 2025 to fill the current vacancy on Waterbeach Parish Council.

The nomination period for candidates opens on 25 March and closes at 4pm on 2 April.
