Teams from South Cambridgeshire District Council and Cambridgeshire County Council are celebrating after winning a national award for their work helping residents access vital support.
The councils were named winners of the Excellence in Partnership Working (The Fight Against Poverty) at the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation (IRRV) Performance Awards 2026.
The award recognises the success of our joint initiative delivered through the Low-Income Family Tracker (LIFT) Programme, which uses data to identify residents who may be entitled to support but are not currently claiming it.
The project helped more than 80 children access free school meals which they were eligible for but had not previously been receiving, securing £1 million of additional funding for local schools in the process.
More details of the project can be found here.
